Jazz Concerts in Memory of HM King of Thailand

Bangkok (Thailand) – November 24, 2016 (travelindex.com) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is staging a series of concerts in memory of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The performances will celebrate the King’s love of music and talents as a performer and composer. The “Jazz in Memory” shows will include performances by famous artistes and a symphony orchestra.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “His Majesty’s love of music is well known and one of the best ways of celebrating his memory is by allowing people to enjoy performances of the King’s music in places that were close to his heart. We are proud of our musical monarch, and these concerts are a way of showing the world that Thailand is celebrating the reign of the Great King and his achievements, while inviting international visitors to enjoy his musical legacy.”

TAT is staging the Jazz concerts on 26-27 November, 2016, and entry is free at both shows.

Jazz in the World Heritage will take place at Wat Phra Ram in Ayutthaya and the Jazz musicians will be accompanied by an orchestra. Famous artistes performing will include Nantida Kaewbuasai, Jennifer Kim and others..

Jazz on the Beach is being held by the sea at Laem Tan in the Saen Suk district of Chon Buri. The concert will be honoured by the presence of Dr. Pathorn Srikaranonda, a musician of the Friday Amphornsathan Band, with which H.M. the Late King used to play. Dr Pathorn will perform the musical compositions of the King as well as recollect his personal memories of performing with the late monarch. See more at: TATNewsroom
